On 30 November 2022 Swindon Borough Council confirmed the above order.
The effect of the order as confirmed will be to divert the public footpath running from Point A at OS grid ref SU18898217, approx 8m W of Coateside Way, in a generally SSE direction for approx 77m to Point B at OS grid ref SU18928209, approx 60m from the centre of the helipad and create the alternative footpath, to be known as Footpath 12 in the Parish of Liddington and Footpath 60 in the Parish of Central Swindon South, from Point A, running in a generally WSW direction, then turning in a generally SSE direction to pass through Point C, and, then turning in a generally ENE direction to Point B, a total distance of approx 115m, as shown on the order map. A copy of the order and the map may be seen free of charge at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, from 9am to 5pm on Mondays and Wednesdays to Fridays and 9am to 4pm on Tuesdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £15. The order and order map can also be viewed on the public rights of way pages of the Swindon Borough Council website (

The order came into force on the 2 December 2022 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 8 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 8 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
