D2203 Heathcote Road and D2128 Downside, Epsom Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: - 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in: - a) The entire length of D2203 Heathcote Road, Epsom. Alternative route - Ashley Road, St Martin's Avenue and Downside. b) That length of D2128 Downside, Epsom that extends from its junction with B289 Downs Road, to the eastern side of its junction with D2403 St Martin's Avenue. Alternative route - For southbound traffic - Downs Road, Downs Hill Road and St Martin's Avenue. For northbound traffic - Downs Road, Church Street and Worple Road. 2. Suspend the existing one way system in D2203 Heathcote Road, Epsom in its entirety.

This Traffic Order is required to enable Southern Gas Networks to carry out gas mains replacement and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 4pm, within 3 months of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 January 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures which are anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents, businesses and emergency services will be maintained at all times via the vehicular diversion routes described above. Dated: 01 December 2022
