The County Council of Durham (Bridge Road, Cornforth) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council on 25/11/22 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 40 metres of Bridge Road that extends south westerly from the farm access on the north eastern side of the bridge, Cornforth to enable rail bridge inspection works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the north eastern side of the closure from Cornforth Lane north onto A177 then west and turning south and west onto Thinford Road and leading south onto C69 then south easterly onto Station Road then east along High Street and north onto Middleham Road/Bridge Road to the south western side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 5/12/22 from 11pm and are anticipated to be completed in 7 hours. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
