The County Of Cumbria (High Street, Victoria Street, And Cross Street, Windermere) (Windermere Christmas Celebrations) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Windermere Christmas Celebrations ("the Event") in Windermere, the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. High Street, Windermere, from its junction with Main Road to its junction with Victoria Street; and

2. Victoria Street, Windermere, from its junction with Main Road to its junction with High Street; and

3. Cross Street, Windermere, from its junction with Victoria Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 100m. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via Main Road, Elleray Road and Church Street.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Event. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The reference to quote is TTRO/2183.
The Order will come into operation on 10 December 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 2 days, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed
