The County Council of Durham (Villiers Place, Chester-le-Street) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council on 25/11/22 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 15 metres of Villiers Place that extends southwards from Pelaw Bank, Chester-le-Street to enable gas main renewal works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the northern side of the closure from Pelaw Bank south easterly to Newcastle Road then southerly to North Burns then westerly to the junction with Villiers Place to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 9/12/22 and are anticipated to be completed in 10 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
