Temporary Traffic Restrictions
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 10th day of November 2022 in respect of the location numbered (1). Furthermore, the Council made an Order on the 17th day of November 2022 in respect of the location numbered (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (3), (4) & (5).
(1) Malton Avenue (Continuation). York
This Order continues in force The York (Malton Avenue) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2022 (original Order). The effect of which is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Malton Avenue, York between its junction with Heworth Green and a location 30 metres north-west of said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at0001 hours on Saturday, 12 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on the Friday, 25 November 2022 (works period) or on a date when gas mains works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) Church Lane. Skelton
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Church Lane, Skelton between its junction with A19 Shipton Road and a location 80 metres north-east of said junction (closed road) during the period when telecoms maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 21 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Wednesday, 23 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0900hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) Queen Street. York
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Queen Street, York leading down to the York Railway Institute between the projected south-eastern boundary of property No. 19 and the projected north-western boundary of York Railway Institute building (closed road) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0600hrs on Monday, 28 November 2022 and ending at 1900hrs on Tuesday, 29 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, all 'on-street' parking places situated on the north-eastern side of the section of Queen Street, York leading down to the York Railway Institute (suspension area) will be subject to suspension. Residential parking permit holders for zone R15SC will be allowed to park, free of penalty, in Micklegate and Priory Street for the works period only. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) Towthorpe Road. Haxby
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Haxby Station Level Crossing, Towthorpe Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when level crossing maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2330hrs on Friday, 02 December 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Saturday, 03 December 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) Bishophill Senior. York
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Bishophill Senior, York between its junction with Buckingham Street and a location 26 metres northwest of said junction (closed road) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 28 November 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 16 December 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. The bollards will be removed from further along Bishophill Senior to allow vehicle access from Fetter Lane.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
