Darlington Borough Council Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic, Clearway And Footway Closures) Order 2022 Duke Street, Darlington

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be
to temporarily introduce:

1. no stopping at any time (clearway); and

2. the prohibition of the driving of vehicles

3. footway closures on the following road: DUKE STREET

From its junction at the roundabout with Stanhope Road North to the west side of Larchfield Street junction
An alternative route will be signed via Stanhope Road South, Coniscliffe Road, Larchfield Street From the eastern boundary of 44 Duke Street to the eastern boundary of 36 Duke Street An alternative route will be signed via Woodland Road, Stanhope Road North, Stanhope Road South, Coniscliffe Road, Larchfield Street, Powlett Street, Raby Terrace From the east side of Larchfield Street junction to the east side of Barnard Street junction
An alternative route will be signed via Stanhope Road South, Coniscliffe Road, Larchfield Street, Powlett Street, Raby Terrace From the east side of Barnard Street junction to the eastern boundary of 4 Duke Street An alternative route will be signed via Barnard Street, Winston Street, Raby Terrace, Powlett Street, Larchfield Street
From the eastern boundary of 4 Duke Street to the rising bollard

This section will only be closed between 1000 & 1700hours or overnight to allow access for deliveries
Works to be carried out in the sections described
above as works progress along the street.
Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained.
The Order is necessary to allow works to
formalise the one way system, drainage works,
surfacing of the footway and carriageway.
The maximum duration of the temporary closure
under this Order is 18 months commencing from
30th December 2022, it is anticipated that the
closure will be effective for 9months.
