Wiltshire, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures

Section 14(1) Of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) The Butts (Part), Westbury; from its junction with Orchard Road to outside property known as No.30 The Butts to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out drainage and associated works. Alternative route via Orchard Road - A350 - Hospital Road - The Butts (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 November 2022 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 5 days. A350 Western Way (Part), Melksham and Melksham Without from its roundabout junction with Semington Road to its roundabout junction with A365 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, replacement of road markings, adjustment of ironworks and associated works on Western Way roundabout, Melksham. Alternative route via A365 - C382 -C502 - A3102 - A350 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2022 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 01 December 2022. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that on 9 and 10 November 2022 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Orders 1 and 2 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is as follows: No. 1 - To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Melksham and Melksham Without) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2010 and re-enact it, in part, in the above Order 2 and to introduce a 30mph speed limit on Pathfinder Way - from its roundabout junction with Western Way for a distance of 331 metres in a southerly direction; No.2 - To introduce a 40mph speed limit on A365 Western Way - from a point 105 metres west of its roundabout junction with Pathfinder Way/Spa Road for a distance of 168 metres in a westerly direction. As part of this project, under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: No.3 - The installation of a "PUFFIN" (Pedestrian User-Friendly Intelligent) Crossing, a form of traffic signal-controlled crossing in A365 Western Way at a point 132 metres west of its roundabout junction with Spa Road; No.4 - The installation of "TOUCAN" Crossings (an un-segregated crossing for pedestrians and cyclists) in A365 Bath Road (east and westbound carriageways) - at a point 22 metres south east of its roundabout junction with Spa Road; A365 Bath Road -at a point 236 metres south east of its roundabout junction with Spa Road. Also as part of this project a Bus Stop Clearway will also be introduced on Pathfinder Way - east side - at a point 140 metres south east of its roundabout junction with Spa Road; Pathfinder Way - west side - at a point 170 metres south east of its roundabout junction with Spa Road. Any person aggrieved by the Orders and desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Orders will come into operation on 21 November 2022.
