The A3 Gla Road (Robin Hood Way/ Beverley Way, Royal Borough Of Kingston Upon Thames And London Borough Of Merton) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2022
1. Transport for London in consultation with the London Borough of Merton hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
2. The purpose of the Order is to enable highway improvement and resurfacing works to take place on the A3 Robin Hood Way/ Beverly Way.
3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
(1) entering or proceeding in a southerly direction on the A3 Robin Hood Way between its junctions with Kingston Vale and the A3 southbound on-slip from Beverley Court, local access will be maintained to Vale Crescent
(2) entering or proceeding on Robin Hood Way between its Junctions with Vale Crescent and A3 Robin Hood Way;
(3) entering or proceeding in a northerly direction on the A3 Beverley Way/ Robin Hood Way between its junctions with A3 northbound off-slip to Bushey Road and Roehampton Vale;
(4) entering or proceeding in a northerly direction on Beverley Way between its junctions with Bushey Road and the A3 Beverley Way;
(5) entering or proceeding in a northerly direction on the unnamed slip-road between its junctions with Coombe Lane West and A3 Robin Hood Way;
(6) entering or proceeding in a southerly direction on Beverley Way between its junctions with Coombe Lane West and
Robin Hood Way.
Works will be phased such that some restrictions will apply only at certain times.
The Order will be effective at certain times between 17th November 2022 and 17th May 2023, every night 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:
(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
5. At such times as the prohibitions are in force alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs. Southbound via Kingston Vale, Kingston Hill, Glasworthy Road, Coombe Lane West, Coombe Lane Flyover, Beverley Court and A3 southbound on-slip to normal route of travel. Northbound via A3 northbound off-slip to Bushey Road, Bushey Road, Kingston Road, Merton High Street, High Street Colliers Wood, Tooting High Street, Upper Tooting Road, Trinity Road, A219 off-slip to Huguenot Place, Huguenot Place, East Hill, Wandsworth High Street, West Hill, Kingston Road and Roehampton Vale to normal route of travel.
