Croydon Council Permanent Introduction Of Short-Term Parking & Loading Bays. 20mph Speed Limit & "At Any Time" Waiting And Loading Restrictions To Facilitate A Mandatory Cycle Lane - London Road And Side Roads. Thornton Heath & Croydon
The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and (Free Parking Places) (No.17) Order 2022 The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No.17) Order 2022 The Croydon (Speed Limit) (No.1) Order 2022
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 14 November 2022 made the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections ?f the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce the following measures to make permanent the temporary mandatory cycle lane in London Road:
(a) To make permanent the existing temporary waiting and loading restrictions operating "at any time" in London Road between its junctions with Whitehall Road and Greenside Road.
(b) To permanently remove all parking and loading bays from the above section of London Road with the exception of the existing disabled bay outside No. 689 London Road.
(c) To provide short-term parking and loading places in the side streets as described in the Schedules to this Notice.
(d) To make permanent the existing temporary 20mph speed limit in London Road between its junctions with Brigstock Road and St James's Road.
(e) To amend the map-based tiles to the Schedules attached to the above Orders so as to accurately represent the new arrangements as they exist on site.
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 21 November 2022, and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Wetherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively, copies of the Orders,
all related documents, or further information can be requested by email to
or by post to Parking Design, 6th Floor Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CRO 1 EA.
4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

Croydon Council Road Traffic Regulation Act. 1984. Section 14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Nova Road. Croydon Temporary Restriction Of Traffic & Parking
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to install ducting for electrical cables, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Nova Road.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
(a) Nova Road will be closed outside Nos. 30 to 34 Nova Road.
(b) Parking will be suspended and temporary waiting and loading restrictions operating 'at any time' will apply in Nova Road within the above closure area.
3. Whilst the closure is in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Nova Road, Kidderminster Road, London Road, Nova Road and reversed, or via Nova Road, London Road, Hathaway Road, St. James's Road, Kidderminster Road and Nova Road.
4. The Order will come into operation on 18 November 2022 and remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months to be reintroduced if further works are required.
5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer works on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Birdhurst Avenue and Temple Road.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
(a) Birdhurst Avenue will be closed between the common boundaries of Nos. 1 a and 1 Birdhurst Avenue and the junction with Coombe Road.
(b) Parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply in the permit/payment parking bays outside Deepdale Court, No.2a Birdhurst Avenue.
(c) Temple Road will be closed outside Nos. 21 to 37 Temple Road.
3. Whilst the closures are in place the diversion routes for traffic will be via Birdhurst Gardens, South Park Hill Road, Coombe Road and reversed (for the closure of Birdhurst Avenue), and via St Peter's Road (for the closure of Temple Road).
4. The Order will come into operation on 21 November 2022, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 23 December 2022. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

Croydon Council Road Traffic Regulation Act. 1984. Section 14 As Amended The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 And All Other Enabling Powers Riddlesdown Road. Purley Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate bridge inspection works, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Riddlesdown Road.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place Riddlesdown Road will be closed between its junctions with Purley Park Road and Brancaster Lane.
3. Whilst the closure is in place the diversion route for traffic will be via Purley Downs Road, Yew Tree Walk, Brancaster Lane and vice versa, as appropriately signed.
4. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
5. The Order will come into operation on 23 November 2022, and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out over one night between 10pm and 6am. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

Croydon Council Road Traffic Regulation Act. 1984. Section 14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Northwood Avenue. Purley Temporary Restriction Of Vehicular Traffic
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to replace a rotted telegraph pole, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Northwood Avenue, Purley.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place Northwood Avenue will be closed between the common boundaries of Nos. 10 and 12 and Nos. 12a and 14 Northwood Avenue.
3. During the closure the alternative route for traffic will be via Northwood Avenue, Higher Drive, Cullesden Road, Firs Road, Park Road, Oaks Way, Oaks Road and Northwood Avenue and reversed.
4. The Order will come into operation on 18 November 2022, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
