Temporary Closure of Helen Lane, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along HELEN LANE, WEYMOUTH for its entirety. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 23 November 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23 January 2023.

This Order will enable East Devon Scaffolding, safe access to erect scaffolding to side of property to facilitate maintenance works.

An alternative route will be signed using: East Street - Custom House Quay -St Mary Street - St Edmund Street - Maiden Street.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No 6, Portland

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath no. 6 from grid reference SY 6858 7290 to grid reference SY 6830 7254 a distance of approximately 475M metres. SY 6820 7208 to grid reference SY 6797 7177, a distance of approximately 380 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 18 November 2022, for a period of 26 weeks.

The order is required due to health and safety reasons.

Alternative routes are way marked - please follow the South West Coast path diversion signs.

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the order will be to amend the existing Traffic Regulation Order to allow access to a private garage at 17 Avenue Road, Weymouth.
