The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads, Maryport) (Maryport Christmas Lights Switch On Event) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Maryport Christmas Lights Switch On Event ("the Event") in Maryport, the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act), with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport under Section 16(B)(6) of the Act, the effect of which is to:

1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U2823 Senhouse Street, Maryport from its junction with U2761 Crosby Street its junction with U2796 High Street Duration - From 1000 hours to 1900 hours on Saturday 19 November 2022.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the U2796 High Street, U2802 John Street and U2761 Crosby Street.
2. Prohibit any vehicle to wait at any time, on any day or to load or unload, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders), along the following lengths of road:

(i) U2796 High Street, Maryport (both sides) from its junction with Senhouse Street to its junction with John Street; and (ii)U2802 John Street, Maryport (both sides), from its junction with High Street to its junction with Crosby Street; and (iii)U2761 Crosby Street, Maryport (both sides), from its junction with John Street to its junction with Senhouse Street.

Duration - From 1000 hours to 1900 hours on Saturday 19 November 2022.

(iv) U2823 Senhouse Street, Maryport (both sides) from its junction with U2761 Crosby Street its junction with U2796 High Street.

Duration - From 0830 hours to 1000 hours on Saturday 19 November 2022, after which that section of Senhouse Street, Maryport stated, will be closed as detailed in 1 above.

N.B. The restrictions detailed in 2(i) to 2(iii) inclusive, above are required to facilitate the alternative route and ensure unrestricted two-way traffic flow. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall: (a)Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and (b)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and (c)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

(d)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Event. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website, quoting the reference TTRO/2161.
The Order will come into operation on 19 November 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 1 day on 19 November 2022 at the times stated above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed
