The County Council of Durham (C35 Middridge Road, Newton Aycliffe) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 720 metres of C35 Middridge Road between its junctions with C147 Greenfield Way roundabout and the Unclassified road 42.11 leading to Middridge Farms, Newton Aycliffe to enable new roundabout resurfacing works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the eastern side of the closure via Greenfield Way generally south and turning onto Horndale Avenue then south westerly on C39 through School Aycliffe and north west on A6072 and north on Redworth Road, Dale Road and Spout Lane to the junction with C35 to the western side of the closure, and vice versa. An additional HGV route will also be signed from School Aycliffe Lane south on Preston Road and continuing south on Spring Road then west on Heighington Lane to A6072. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 25/11/22 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles on an emergency call.
