South Wight Youth Area Partnership (SWAY) has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Chale Green Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State. The proposed works are: construction of a Community Hub on land adjacent to Spanners Close which will overlap approximately 535 square metres of the common. The Hub building will include a multi-use area with a kitchen, a small top-up shop, meeting rooms and office space. The works will be located to the south of the existing community space as per the approved planning application 21/02345/FUL.

A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Stubbings Bros Offices Chale Green, Chale PO38 2JN during normal office hours until 16th December.
