Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 -Sections 14(1) And 15(2)
(Burlington Road. New Malden)
(Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate redevelopment works adjacent to Burlington Road, on 9 November 2022 they made an Order under sections 14(1) and 15(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in Burlington Road.

2. During the works no person will:-

(a) cause or permit any vehicle proceeding in Burlington Road to enter into the temporary egress road which will lie from the Tesco Car Park across Bridleway No. 49 and through the site of No. 247 Burlington Road to Burlington Road; or

(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Burlington Road the north-west side, from the western kerb-line of the temporary egress road south-westward for a distance of 10 metres.

3. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. The restriction in paragraph 2(a) above will not apply to pedal cycles which will use the cycle contraflow provided.

5. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or

(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes in any emergency.

6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

7. The Order will come into operation on Wednesday 16th November 2022 and will remain in force until such time as all the relevant works are completed, whereupon it will then be revoked by a further Order made by the Council. It is currently anticipated that the works will commence on 12th January 2023 and be completed in January 2025.

London Borough Of Merton Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1)
(Milton Road. Sw19) (Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate the maintenance and repair of service pipes in Milton Road, SW19, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works no person would:-

(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Milton Road, from the common boundary of Nos. 4 and 6 Milton Road to the common boundary of Nos. 24 and 26 Milton Road; or

(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in paragraph (a) above; or

(c) enter or proceed in the northern footway of Milton Road between the common boundary of Nos. 5 and 7 Milton Road and the common boundary of Nos. 13 and 15 Milton Road.

3. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions in any emergency; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed:-

(a) westbound via Haydons Road, Dryden Road and Garfield Road or via Haydons Road, Cowper Road and Garfield Road;

(b) eastbound via Garfield Road, Dryden Road and Haydons Road or via Garfield Road, Cowper Road and Garfield Road.

6. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite. Pedestrian access to properties adjacent the footway closure would be maintained at all times.

7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

8. The Order would come into operation on Monday 5th December 2022 and remain in force for 3 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The works are anticipated to be completed by 7th December 2022.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1)
(Love Lane. Prow 171) (Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate works to clear blockages, including excavation works, in a length of Love Lane comprising Public Right of Way No. 171, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from entering or proceeding in Love Lane (PROW No. 171), between its junction with Church Place and its junction with Edmund Road.

2. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

3. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) any person connected with the execution of the said works;

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform.

4. Pedestrians affected by the footpath closure should proceed by way of Frimley Gardens, Miles Road and Edmund Road.

5. The Order will apply from Monday 21st November 2022 and it is anticipated the works will be completed on Wednesday 23rd November 2022. However, the Order will remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

(Hertford Way. Cr4) (Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022


1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate new water service connections and ancillary works in Hertford Way, CR4, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works no person would:-

(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Hertford Way, from the south-eastern kerb-line of Carisbrooke Road south-eastward for a distance of 25 metres; or

(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in paragraph (a) above; or

(c) enter or proceed in the north-eastern footway of Hertford Way adjacent to No. 48 Carisbrooke Road.

3. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed using Carisbrooke Road, Berkshire Way and Yorkshire Road or Yorkshire Road, Westmorland Way and Carisbrooke Road.

6. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.

7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

8. The Order would come into operation on Monday 5th December 2022 and remain in force for 6 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The works are anticipated to be completed by 5th May 2023.

(Amity Grove. Sw20)
(Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate development works in Amity Grove, SW20, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works no person would:-

(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Amity Grove, from its junction with Coombe Lane to the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 2a Amity Grove; or
(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait in Amity Grove, the east side, from its junction with Coombe Lane northward to the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 2a Amity Grove;

(c) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading, in Amity Grove, the west side, from a point 22.8 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Coombe Lane northward for a distance of 16 metres;

(d) enter or proceed on the eastern footway of Amity Grove, from its junction with Coombe Lane northward for a distance of 46 metres.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of Amity Grove specified in paragraph 2(b) and (c) above would be suspended for the duration of the works. The disabled persons parking place on the west side of Amity Grove nearest its junction with Coombe Lane would be unaffected.

4. The "no-entry" restriction prohibiting vehicles from entering Amity Grove from Coombe Lane would be suspended during the works.

5. The restrictions and suspensions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

6. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to the properties adjacent the road or lengths of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above, insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

7. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed using Coombe Lane and Durham Road.

8. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.

9. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

10. The Order would come into operation on Monday 21st November 2022 and would remain in force for 18 months. It is currently anticipated that Amity Grove would be closed to vehicular traffic on 7th January 2023 to enable the erection of a tower crane and that the no-entry restriction from Coombe Lane into Amity Grove would be suspended up to 5 times on any single day for HGV movements.

(Heatherdene Close. Mitcham)
(Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022

1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate footway reconstruction and maintenance works to be undertaken in Heatherdene Close, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works, no person will:-

(a) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Heatherdene Close, both sides; or

(b) enter or proceed on the footways of the road or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.

3. The restrictions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. The works will be carried out under a rolling programme of parking suspension to minimise Inconvenience to residents.

4. Pedestrian traffic affected by a footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.

5. Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

6. Nothing in the Order will apply: -

(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions at the time of any emergency; or

(d) so as to prevent pedestrian access to premises in or adjacent to the road or lengths of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above.

7. The Order will come into operation on Friday 11th November 2022 and It is anticipated that the works will take place between 8am and 6pm weekdays for 3 weeks. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 12 months and its provisions will be re-introduced during that period should any further works be required.
