(Plough Lane. Wimbledon)
(Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022
The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate re-lining and associated works in Plough Lane, Wimbledon, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:
(a) enter or proceed in Plough Lane, between its junction with Summerstown and the Wandle River bridge; or
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in paragraph (a) above.
Any designated parking place situated in the length of road specified paragraph 2(a) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.
The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Nothing in the Order will apply to: -
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions in any emergency; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or lengths of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
NB: Access to Waterside Way will be maintained at all times.
6. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via:-
(a) Durnsford Road, Merton Road, Buckhold Road, Wandsworth High Street, Wandsworth Plain, Armoury Way, Ram Street, Garratt Lane and Summerstown; or
(b) Summerstown, Garratt Lane, Wandsworth High Street, Buckhold Road, Merton Road and Durnford Road; or
(c) Blackshaw Road, Colliers Wood High Street, Merton High Street and Haydons Road; or vice-versa.
7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the
8 Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
The Order will come into operation on Tuesday 15 November 2022 and remain in force for 6 months. The works were to be carried out over two nights commencing on 15 November 2022 but will be re-scheduled due to the AFC Wimbledon FA Cup 1st Round Replay that evening.
