Lower Cow Pasture Common Cl46 Near Bow Farm, Twyning, Gloucestershire

Moreton C Cullimore Gravels Ltd has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Lower Cow Pasture Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State. The proposed works are: (i) construction of a haul road across the common as the main access to a proposed gravel & sand extraction site (ii) post and rail fencing lining haul road (iii) bridge off the common crossing brook accessing the extraction area. The works will be located in the north corner of the common, just south east of Bow Farm (Grid Ref: SO 879,361).

The fencing proposed along the sides of the haul road will be 1.2 metre high post and rail and total 460 m length and enclose an area of 2,900m2. The works are temporary in nature as the site will be fully restored and vacated after 9 years of operation. A copy of the application form and accompanying documents showing the proposed works can be inspected at Gloucestershire County Council, Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 2TG between normal office hours until the 12th of December 2022. The common land is entirely in Gloucestershire but the project site as a whole also straddles Worcestershire so a copy of the application form and accompanying documents may also be obtained from Worcestershire County Council, Spetchely Road, Worcester, WR5 SNP or e-mailing the agent
