York, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temproary Prohibition of Vehicles

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 10th day of November 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4) & (5). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (6).
(1) LEEMAN ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Leeman Road, York between its junction with Kingsland Terrace and a location 120 metres south of said junction (closed road) during the period when CCTV installation works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2200hrs on Monday, 14 November 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Thursday, 17 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY 3/19/10 THE VILLAGE TO SOUTHFIELDS ROAD. STRENSALL
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Public Right Of Way 3/19/10, Strensall between its junctions with The Village and Southfields Road (closed footpath) during the period when electrical mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 14 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 18 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(3) YORK CHRISTMAS MARKET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on listed in the schedule below (restricted roads) during the period when York Christmas Market works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1800hrs on Tuesday, 15 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Wednesday, 04 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restriction will only be put in to place during the following times:
* between 1000hrs and 1900hrs during the event period;
*with the exception of the lay-by area adjacent to 8-20 Parliament
Street which will be closed for the duration of the event
* Between 0700hrs and 1900hrs at The Eye Of York / The Castle
between Saturday, 17 November 2022 & Sunday, 18 November 2022 only
Additionally all 'on-street' parking places situated around St Sampson's Square (suspension area) will be subject to suspension between 0800hrs and 1030hrs daily for the duration of the event.

(4) SOUTHOLME ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Southolme Road, York between its junctions with the A19 Shipton Road and Eastholme Drive (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Thursday, 17 November 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Monday, 21 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day during the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) LOW PETERGATE (CONTINUATION). YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Low Petergate, York between its junctions with Grape Lane and Church Street (closed road) during the period when building maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Friday, 11 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 28 April 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. This Order continues the temporary road closure Notice which had an end date of 2359hrs on Thursday, 10 November 2022.
(6) CHURCH LANE. SKELTON
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Church Lane, Skelton between its junction with A19 Shipton Road and a location 80 metres north-east of said junction (closed road) during the period when telecoms maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 21 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Wednesday, 23 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0900hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
