  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.



  2. The general effect of the ‘Speed Limits’ Order would be to impose a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour in Crundale Avenue, Mersham Drive, Valley Drive, Waltham Avenue and Wyndale Avenue.



  3. The general effect of the 'Waiting and Loading Restriction' Order would be to further amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that:-




  1. waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited at any time in the lengths of streets specified in The Schedule to this Notice;


  2. waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 40 minutes in the same place would be prohibited at the times and in the lengths of street specified in The Schedule to this Notice;


  3. the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle would be prohibited (except on Sundays) in the lengths of street specified in The Schedule to this Notice, unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected;


  4. the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising would be prohibited in the lengths of streets specified in The Schedule to this Notice; and


  5. any existing prohibition on the waiting by vehicles, the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle or the use of any vehicle or animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising in the lengths of streets specified in The Schedule to this Notice would be revoked;


  6. to make minor drafting amendments to the existing restrictions in certain roads to conform with the current on-site layout





  • The prohibitions referred to in sub-paragraphs 3(a) and (b) inclusive above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g., the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person's "Blue Badge" would apply.




  • Copies of the proposed Order, of the relevant Order 1979 (and of the Order which have amended that Order) of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of a map which indicates each length of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at Brent Customer Services, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ.

  • Persons desiring to make representations or to object to the proposals or to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections, and the grounds thereof, via email to trafficorders@brent.gov.uk, or in writing to the Head of Healthy Streets and Parking, Healthy Streets and Parking, 5th Floor North Wing, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ, quoting the reference TO/24/122/NP, to arrive no later than 21 days from the date of publication of this Notice.

    Crundale Avenue:




    1. the south-east side, between 12.00 metres south-west of Valley Drive and the north-eastern boundary line of No. 2 Crundale Avenue;


    2. the south-east side, between Nos. 77 and 79 Crundale Avenue and No. 79 and 81 Crundale Avenue;


    3. the south-east side, between Nos. 109 and 111 Crundale Avenue south-westward for 12.50 metres;


    4. the north-west side, between 2.90 metres south-west of Nos. 109 and 111 Crundale Avenue and Wyndale Avenue;


    Mersham Drive:




    1. the south-east side, between 2.00 metres south-west of Nos. 27 and 29 Mersham Drive south-westward for 15.00 metres;


    2. the north-west side, between Nos. 50 and 52 Mersham Drive south-westward for 15.00 metres;


    Valley Drive:




    1. the south-east side, between 7.50 metres north-east of No. 5 Valley Drive and Nos. 15 and 17 Valley Drive;


    2. the north-west side, between 7.50 metres north-east of No. 5 Valley Drive and Nos. 7 and 9 Valley Drive;


    3. the north-west side, between 4.40 metres north-east of Nos. 4 and 6 Valley Drive north-eastward for 6.00 metres;


    4. the south-west side, between 10.00 metres north-west of Waltham Avenue and 10.00 metres south-east of Waltham Avenue;


    5. the north-east and south-east sides, between 4.40 metres south-east of Nos. 97 and 99 Valley Drive and Nos. 111 and 113 Valley Drive;


    6. the north-west side, between Nos. 169 and 171 Valley Drive and Nos. 175 and 177 Valley Drive.


    Waltham Avenue:




    1. the south-east side, between Valley Drive and 20.00 metres south-west;


    2. the north-west side, between Valley Drive and 40.00 metres south-west;


    3. the south-east side, between 20.00 metres north-east of Fryent Way north-eastward for 20.00 metres;


    Wyndale Avenue:




    1. the north-west side, between south-western building wall of No. 36 Wyndale Avenue south-westward for 10.00 metres;


    2. the north-west side, between Crundale Avenue and Nos. 38 and 40 Wyndale Avenue;


    3. the south-east side, between 2.00 metres south-west of Nos. 31 and 33 Wyndale Avenue and 2.00 metres north-east of Nos. 39 and 41 Wyndale Avenue.
