(Broad Street, Oxford Christmas Market) (Traffic Managment) (Special Event) Order 2022
NOTICE is hereby given that on 21 November 2022 Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Council is satisfied that the event cannot be held other than on the public highway This Order is being introduced to facilitate the holding of the Oxford Christmas Market and various attractions. The associated traffic management measures will be in force from 00:01hrs on Monday 28 November to 23:59 on Monday 19 December as detailed below. The effect of the Order will be as follows:

1. To close the western section of Broad Street and suspend parking/driving between Turl Street and Magdalen Street East;
2. To create safe alternative routes by removing cycling prohibitions in Cornmarket and Queen Street enabling unrestricted cycle routes throughout the town centre roads.
3. To enable 2 above, the relevant parts of the Oxfordshire County Council (City of Oxford) (Central Area) (Traffic Management) (Consolidation) Order 2003 (as amended) covering the following will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the event:
Prohibition of Cycling in Cornmarket between 10am and 6pm suspended.
Prohibition of Cycling in Queen Street between 10am and 6pm suspended.
One Way traffic in Queen Street suspended for cyclists only Detailed documents are available for public inspection online at
