(Witney Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2022
NOTICE is given that on 7 November 2022 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order, which comes into force on 11 November is as follows:
1. 20mph speed limit introduced throughout Witney incorporating the existing 20mph speed limits in the 'Cogges', 'Northeast' & 'Town Centre' areas, leading outwards to the following points:
a. A4095 Woodstock Road - a point 165 metres west of its junction with Jubilee Way,
b. New Yatt Road - a point 182 metres northeast of its junction with Early Road,
c. B4022 Hailey Road - a point 220 metres northwest of its junction with Eastfield Road,
d. Witney/Crawley Road - a point 222 metres northwest of its junction with Quarry Road,
e. B4047 Burford Road - a point 55 metres west of its junction with the A4095 Tower Hill,
f. A4095 Curbridge Road - a point 40 metres southwest of its junction with Centenary Way,
g. Stanton Harcourt Road - a point 30 metres south of its junction with Manor Road, and
h. B4022 Oxford Hill - a point 35 metres east of its junction with Cogges Hill Road.
2. 30mph speed limits introduced in the following roads:
a. B4047 Burford Road - from a point 55 metres west of its junction with the A4095 Tower Hill, westwards to a point 60 metres west of its junction with Downs Road, in place of the existing 40mph speed limit,
b. Deer Park Road - for its entire length, replacing the existing 40mph speed limit,
c. Thorney Leys - for its entire length, replacing the existing 40mph speed limit,
d. A415 Ducklington Lane - from a point 95 metres south of the A415/A40 Slip Road roundabout junction, northwards to its junction with the A4095/Corn Street roundabout,
e. Station Lane - from its junction with the A415 Ducklington Lane, eastwards to a point 30 metres west of its junction with Avenue Two.
3. 40mph speed limits introduced as follows, replacing the existing 50mph speed limits:
a. Jubilee Way - from a point 80 metres north of its junction with Oxford Hill, northwards to its junction with the A4095 Woodstock Road.
b. A4095 Witney Road (to North Leigh) - from its junction with Woodstock Road, north-eastwards for a distance of 115 metres.

c. A4095 Woodstock Road - from its junction with Jubilee Way, westwards for a distance of 165 metres.
* All other existing speed limits will remain as currently signed.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Witney Area) (Speed Limits)
Order 2021 is revoked/replaced.
