NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14
SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL PUBLIC FOOTPATHS 1 & 6,
PARISH OF CENTRAL SWINDON SOUTH
ORDER 2022
On 1 November 2022 Swindon Borough Council confirmed the above order.
The effect of the order as confirmed will be to divert
i. Public Footpath 1 from Point E at OS grid ref SU18688109, approx 370m W of the boundary fence of the Highways Maintenance Depot "the Depot" in a generally ESE direction through Points D and B for approx. 360m to Point F at OS grid ref SU19038101, approx 3m W of the boundary fence of the Depot, and create the alternative footpath from Point E in a generally NE direction to Point S, then continuing S and generally E through Points T, V and W
to Point F, at OS grid ref SU19038101, approx 3m W of the boundary fence of the Depot, a total distance of approx 470m, as shown on the order map.
ii. Public Footpath 6 from Point C at OS grid ref SU18788119, approx 300m W of the boundary fence of the Depot, in a generally SE direction through Point T for approx 175m to Point D at OS grid ref SU18888104, approx 150m W of the boundary fence of the Depot and create the alternative footpath from Point C in a generally S direction for approx 45m to Point S at OS grid ref SU18768114, approx 300m W of the boundary fence of the Depot.
A copy of the order and the map may be seen free of charge at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, from 9am to 5pm on Mondays and Wednesdays to Fridays and 9am to 4pm on Tuesdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £15. The order and order map can also be viewed on the public rights of way pages of the Swindon Borough Council website www.swindon.gov.uk/publicpathorders.
The order came into force on the 1 November 2022 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 8 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
