The County Council of Durham (Unclassified 34.4, Binchester) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 170 metres of Unclassified 34.4, Binchester approximately 500 metres in a south-easterly direction from Binchester Roman Fort to enable Northumbrian Water cleansing & CCTV survey works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the northern side of the closure in a north easterly direction, south east on Long Lane, south on the A688, until Coundongate roundabout, westerly on C130 Canney Hill continuing northerly onto the Market Place then northerly on Unclassified 34.4 Wear Chare and north easterly onto Dial Stob Hill to southern side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 23/11/22 from 4am and are anticipated to be completed in 5 hours. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
