WATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL
(HIGH STREET, WATFORD) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) MODIFICATION TO EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2022
Watford Borough Council, pursuant to arrangements made under Section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 and the Local Government (Arrangement for discharge of Functions) (England) Regulations 2000 with Hertfordshire County Council, and in exercise of powers conferred on that Council under Part 1 Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act") and the Traffic Management Act 2004 Part 6, and of all other enabling powers, gives notice that on the 24th October 2022 it made a modification to the experimental order The general effect of the Order is to introduce measures to manage traffic flow and deliveries on the South West Side of the High Street, Watford, as follows:
- Introduction of no waiting and no loading at any time for the duration of the south west side of High Street between its junctions with King Street and Market Street, with the exception of two dedicated bays as described below.
- Introduction of a shared use Goods Vehicles Loading and Taxi bays, located adjacent to 114a to 114b High Street and 102 to 112 High Street, for Goods Vehicles Loading Only Monday to Friday 2am to 11am, At all other times. No Waiting except taxis.
The order will come into force from the 4th November 2022. A copy of the order, plan of the relevant area and a statement of reasons for making the order can all be inspected on the Watford Borough Council website or at Watford Town Hall during advertised opening hours. If the provisions of the Order continue in operation for a period of not less than six months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Persons desiring to object to the indefinite continuation of the order should send their grounds of objection, in writing, to the undersigned within six months of the 4th November 2022. Any person desiring to question the validity of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
