Order 2022 (Variation) Order No.10 2022 (A44 Kington Bypass & Montfort Road) (50mph & 30mph Speed Limits)

The County of Herefordshire District Council, known as Herefordshire Council in exercise of its powers under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (the 2004 Act) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby proposes to make the above-named Order the effect of which would vary the Herefordshire Council (Speed Limit) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (the 2022 Order) so that:

No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour along the following lengths of road:


*
 A44 Kington Bypass from a point 23m north-west of its junction with Victoria Road (C1072) to a point 17m south-east of the property boundary of Westbourne. A distance of approximately 1920m.

* Montfort Road (C1072) from its junction with A44 Kington Bypass for a distance of 27m in a southerly direction

No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour along the following lengths of road:

 Montfort Road (C1072) from a point 27m south of its junction with A44 Kington Bypass for a distance of 106m in a south­westerly direction.

in the Proposed Traffic Regulation Order section. They are also available for inspection during normal office hours at the Hereford Customer Service Centre, Blue School House, Blue School Street, Hereford, HR1 2LX. Photocopies of the same may be provided on payment of photocopying charges at the Council. General enquiries relating to the proposal should be referred to the Traffic Management Team at ADL Traffic and Highways Engineering Ltd (Tel: 01454 332100). Objections to the proposal together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing to the Traffic Management Team, ADL Traffic and Highways Engineering Ltd, ADL House, Oaklands Business Park, Armstrong Way, Yate, Bristol BS37 5NA, or by email to

The deadline for the receipt of objections is 12:00 noon on Friday 18th November 2022.
Representations of support will also be received during this time.
