TRAFFIC REGULATION
ORDER NO 1 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act' of 1984), the Road Traffic Act 1991 ("the Act of 1991") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to:
1. To revoke the provisions of The Isle of Wight Council, Various Streets, Newport. Traffic Regulation Order No 1 2021.
2. To incorporate and consolidate the following traffic order within this traffic order;
a) The Isle of Wight Council, Parkhurst Road, Newport, IW. Traffic Regulation Order No 1 2021.
b) The Isle of Wight Council, Wellington Road, Newport, Traffic Regulation Order No 2 2020.
3. To re-enact the provisions contained therein subject to the following amendments:
a. To introduce No Waiting at Any Time in the following lengths of road:
Lushington Hill, on the south side, from its junction with Crematorium Road to a point 49 metres east thereof.
Crematorium Road, on the west side, from its junction with Lushington Hill to the end of the highway.
Crematorium Road, on the east side, from its junction with Lushington Hill to a point 10.5 metres south thereof.
Crematorium Road, on the east side, from a point 70 metres south to a point 109.5 metres south of its junction with Lushington Hill.
Crematorium Road, on the east side, from a point 148 metres south to a point 162 metres south of its junction with Lushington Hill.
Crematorium Road, on the east side, from a point 216.5 metres south of its junction with Lushington Hill to the end of the highway.
b. To introduce Limited Waiting 2 Hours, No Return Within 2 Hours parking restriction from the following length of road:
Crematorium Road, on the east side, from a point 10.5 metres south to a point 70 metres south of its junction with Lushington Hill.
CrematoriumRoad,on the east side,from a point 109.5metres south to a point 148 metres south of its junction with Lushington Hill.
Crematorium Road, on the east side, from a point 162 metres south to a point 216.5 metres south of its junction with Lushington Hill.
The amendments are being proposed for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, and for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians), following proposals for the development of an adjoining property.
This Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 4 November 2022.
Any person who desires to question the validity of any of the said orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the said Act, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this order may, within six weeks of the date hereof, apply to the High Court for the purpose.
