TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 27* day of October 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6) (7), (8), (9) & (10). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (11), (12), (13) & (14), (15) & (16).
(1) FRONT STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Front Street, York between its junctions with Alexa Court and the vehicle entrance to Acomb Explore Library (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Sunday, 30 October 2022 and ending at 2000hrs on Sunday, 30 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) BURTON STONE LANE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Burton Stone Lane, York between its junctions with Clifton (A19) and Burton Court (closed road) during the period when carriageway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Monday, 31 October 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 04 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0900hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) PECKITT STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Peckitt Street, York between its junction with Clifford Street and the projected south-western boundary of property No. 3 (closed road) during the period when power grid works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 31 October 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 04 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Holders of an R11 zone Residential Parking Permit will be allowed to park in Castle Car Park free of charge for the duration of the works only. Access will be made available for Peckitt Street residents only.
(4) FAIRWAY DRIVE. UPPER POPPLETON
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Fairway Drive, Upper Poppleton between its junctions with Long Ridge Drive and Dikelands Lane (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 31 October 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Thursday, 03 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) BARKSTON AVENUE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Barkston Avenue, York between its junction with Ridgeway and the projected western boundary of property No.3 (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 01 November 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 04 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(6) BRAMHAM ROAD & BARKSTON AVENUE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Bramham Road & Barkston Avenue, York at the crossroad junction of Bramham Road and Barkston Avenue and locations 20 metres in all directions from said junction (closed roads) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 01 November 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 04 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the roads will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(7) BRAMHAM GROVE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Bramham Grove, York between its junction with Bramham Road and a location approximately 42 metres west of said junction (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 01 November 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 04 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(8) FRONT STREET & GREEN LANE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Front Street & Green Lane, York (i) on Front Street between the roundabout controlled junction with Link Road and a location 4o metres north-east of the junction with Green Lane; and (ii) on Green Lane between the junction with Front Street and a location 20 metres south-east of said junction (closed roads) during the period when traffic signal refurbishment works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 31 October 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 25 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of footway on Front Street and Green Lane, York (a) on the southern side of Front Street between the junction with Green Lane and a location 15 metres north-east of said junction; and (b) on the western side of Green Lane between the junction with Front Street and a location 12 metres south-east of said junction; and (c) on the south side of Front Street between the junction with Green Lane and a location 10 metres west of said junction; and (d) on the north side of Front Street between the junction with Cross Street and a location 22 metres west of said junction (closed footways). Furthermore, City of York Council hereby gives Notice in pursuance of Article 9 of The York Parking, Stopping and Waiting Traffic Order 2014 that all 'on-street' parking places situated (e) on the northern side of Front Street, York between the projected western boundary of property No. 3a and a location 10 metres north-east of said boundary and (f) the two disabled parking bays on Cross Street between the junction with Front Street and a location 13 metres north of said junction (suspension areas) will be subject to suspension. It is envisaged that the roads will only be closed between 0930hrs and 1600hrs each day between Wednesday, 02 November 2022 and Friday, 04 November 2022. The disabled parking bays in Cross Street are only expected to be closed between 0800hrs on Monday, 10 November 2022 until 1600hrs on Tuesday, 11 November 2022. Alternative routes for diverted pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(9) SALISBURY TERRACE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of cycleway on Salisbury Terrace, York between its junctions with Kingsland Terrace and Bright Street (closed cycleway) during the period when speed calming works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 02 November 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Thursday, 03 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the cycleway will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted cyclists will be signed during the works period.
(10) LEEMAN ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of road, footway & cycleway on Leeman Road, York (a) between its junctions with Station Rise and Station Avenue (Memorial Gardens) and (b) between points 65 metres east and 60 metres west of Marble Arch Bridge and (c) on Cinder Lane between its junction with Leeman Road and a location 25 metres south-west of said junction (closed roads, footways & cycleways) during the period when delivery/removal of large machinery and materials to a nearby development site, demolition works and survey works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Wednesday, 02 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Tuesday, 31 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the section of Leeman Road adjacent to Memorial Gardens will only be closed, when required, between 2000hrs and 0600hrs each night and Marble Arch tunnel closures, when required, will only commence once the last bus services have passed through. Closures will be advertised on road signs at least 10 days before. Alternative routes for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(11) BARBICAN ROAD & PARAGON STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Barbican Road & Paragon Street, York (i) on Barbican Road between its junctions with Kent Street and the A1079 Lawrence Street and (ii) on Paragon Street between its junctions with Barbican Road and Fawcett Street (closed roads) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2000hrs on Monday, 07 November 2022 and ending at 0500hrs on Friday, 11 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the roads will only be closed between 2000hrs and 0500hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(12) BURTON STONE LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Burton Stone Lane, York between its junctions with Surtees Street and Field View (closed road) during the period when gas mains replacement works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 07 November 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Wednesday, 16 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(13) BLAKE STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Blake Street, York between the projected southern boundaries of Property No's 12 & 16 (closed road) during the period when mobile crane works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2200hrs on Monday, 07 November 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Tuesday, 08 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Blake Street is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(14) PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY 03/18/10 - CHURCH LANE TO WEST END CLOSE. STRENSALL
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Public Right Of Way 03/18/10, Strensall between its junctions with Church Lane and West End Close (closed footpath) during the period when footpath resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0700hrs on Monday, 07 November 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 18 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(15) ELDON STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Eldon Street, York between its junction with Markham Street and a location 35 metres south-west of said junction (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 on Thursday, 10 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Thursday, 10 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(16) ROUGIER STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Rougier Street, York between its junctions with Station Road & Tanner Row closed road) during the period when crane works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0500hrs on Sunday, 06 November 2022 and ending at 0900hrs on Sunday, 06 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
