Notice Of Direction Under Article 4 (1)

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (the "Council") made an Article 4(1) Direction under the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 ("the GPDO") in respect of the Mays Road (CA42) Conservation Area.

The effect of the Direction is that development of the type specified below may no longer be carried out as permitted development at the following properties from the date of this Direction:

* 63-81 (odd numbers) Princes Road Teddington TW11 ORZ

* 94-120 (even numbers) Connaught Road Teddington TW11 OQH

* 1-43 Mays Road Teddington TW11 OSQ

This relates to certain forms of development of dwelling-houses and their curtilages as described below, the references to Parts and Classes being to Schedule 2 to the GPDO:
i. The replacement of windows being development within Part 1, Class A (Schedule 2)

ii. The replacement of front doors (Part 1, Class A)

iii. Any addition to the roof of a dwelling-house (Part 1, Class B)

iv. Any alteration to the roof of a dwelling-house (Part 1, Class C)

v. The erection or construction of a porch outside any external door of a dwelling-house (Part 1, Class D)

vi. Hard standings to the front and side of the dwelling house (Part 1 Class F)

vii. Installation, alteration or replacement of chimney flue or soil and vent pipe (Part 1 Class G)

viii. Installation, alteration, or replacement of satellite antennae (Part 1, Class H)

ix. The erection, construction, improvement or alteration of a gate, fence, wall, or other means of enclosure (Part 2, Class A)

x. Formation, layout out and construction of means of access to a highway (Part 2, Class B)

xi. The painting of the exterior of buildings which face a public highway, being development within (Part 2 Class C).

xii. Building operations consisting of the demolition of the whole or any part of any gate, fence, wall, or other means of enclosure

The Direction comes into effect immediately, but the Council will formally consider any objections to the making of the Direction that are submitted before 2nd December 2022 and decide whether or not to confirm the Direction in the light of such objections.
