Cumbria, Multiple Traffic Notices, Bridge Weight Restrictions

The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads, South Lakeland Area) (Consolidation Of Traffic Regulations) (Order 2002) Variation Order 2022
1. Cumbria County Council hereby give notice that on 25 October 2022 it made the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 19, 32, 35, 35A, 38, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 64 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
1. The Order will come into operation on 31 October 2022 and its effect will be to: -
(a) Introduce the following weight restrictions: -
i) 7.5 Tonnes maximum gross vehicle weight limit on the U5128 (Pennington) - Bridge No. 52 Red Syke (Old);
ii) 3.0 Tonnes maximum gross vehicle weight limit on the U5295 (Grayrigg & Sedgbergh) - Crook O'Lune Bridge;
iii) 10 Tonnes maximum gross vehicle weight limit on the C5091 (Beetham & Preston Patrick) - Nook Bridge;
iv) 13 Tonnes maximum gross vehicle weight limits on the U5056 (Satterthwaite & Claife) - Eel House Bridge and the U5276 (Whitwell & Selside) - Dry Howe Bridge;
v) 18 Tonnes maximum gross vehicle weight limits on the following: -
U5292 (Lambrigg) - Bridge No. 85 Hardrigg Bridge; U5477
(Dent with Cowgill) - Low Hall Bridge; U5651 (Sedbergh) -Abbot Holme Bridge; and
U5358 (Beetham) - Watery Lane Bridge
(b) Remove PART of the "Restricted Waiting, 8.00 am- 6.00 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive, Waiting Limited to 2 hours, Return Prohibited within 2 Hours (Zone B permit holders exempt)" on the north side of Brock well/Buttery Well Road to provide an Advisory parking bay for Disabled Persons Vehicles;
(c) Introduce "No Waiting At Any Time" restrictions on: -
Park Avenue, Kendal (both sides); and Romney Road, Kendal (north side).
(d) Introduce a "Prohibition of All Vehicles - No Access Provision" restriction on the following: -
U5282 (Whitwell & Selside) - Rossil (Old) Bridge; and B5343 (Lakes) - Rossett (Old Bridge); and
(e) Introduce a "No Loading/Unloading At any Time" restriction on the east side of the A6 Stricklandgate, Kendal.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made there under has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 25 October 2022 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
