The County Of Cumbria (A6 Highgate, Kendal) (Kendal Wool Gathering) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Kendal Wool Gathering ("the Event") in Kendal and to enable members of the public to watch the Event, the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act), with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport under Section 16(B)(6) of the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the A6 Highgate, Kendal from Market Place to its junction with Lowther Street. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles; and

(ii) Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Event. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The reference to quote is SL22 - E15.

The Order will come into operation on 28th October 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required from 1700 hours on Friday 28 October 2022 to 1900 hours on Sunday 30 October 2022, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed
