Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Lower Green Lane Astley Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2022. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Lower Green Lane Astley Wigan on 30/10/2022.
The alternative route for traffic is:- Morleys Lane - East Lancashire Road.
The Order is necessary to allow the installation of a long 25m water connection.

Astley Street, Leigh - Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Proposals


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Leigh Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.139) Order 2022. The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
* Astley Street, Leigh (West Side) from its junction with Chapel Street to a point 25 metres north of its junction with Chapel Street.

* Astley Street, Leigh (East Side) from its junction with Chapel Street to a point 10 metres north of its junction with Chapel Street.

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait to enable people to board or alight, for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers, for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes, if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral, to take on fuel, water or air at any garage, for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading, or the avoidance of an accident. The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 84 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and all other enabling powers proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Various Locations, Wigan)

(20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2022.

Breaston Avenue Leigh - Experimental Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,Traffic Management Act 2004, of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, has made the Wigan Borough (Breaston Avenue Leigh) (Experimental Prohibition of Waiting) Order which will come into operation on 28/10/2022.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce, for an experimental period of 18 months, no waiting at any time on:-
? Breaston Avenue Leigh North side from a point 53 metres west of its junction
with Spenlow to a point 69 metres west of its junction with Spenlow

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN Wigan Borough Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may within the period of six months from the coming into force of this Order object to the making of the Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation. Any such objections to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director Legal, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan quoting reference
