Brampton, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads In The Brampton And Longtown Area) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Balfour Beatty to carry out highway works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:-
1. A6071 Cambeck Bridge, near Brampton: For approx. 25m either side of the centre line of Cambeck Bridge.
Approx. duration 1 day (Ref TTRO/1509)
2. A6071 Irthing Bridge, near Brampton: For approx. 25m either side of the centre line of Irthing Bridge.
Approx. duration 2 days (Ref TTRO/1539)
3. A6071 Longtown Road, Brampton: From its junction with Carlisle Road extending in a northerly direction for approx. 400m.
Approx. duration 4 day (Ref TTRO/1542)
4. A6071 Longtown Road: From a point adjacent to Whitesike Industrial Estate extending in a north westerly direction for approx 1.4km.
Approx. duration 4 nights (Ref TTRO/1558)
Alternative Route for all above clousures: via the unrestricted
sections of the A6071, A689, Greymoorhill J44 Roundabout, A7
Longtown.
The above closures will not necessarily be done in numerical order.
The contractor will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 23 October 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as specified above and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
