The County Council of Durham (C21, Smelt Mill Cattle Grid, Rookhope) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council on 14/10/22 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 78 metres of C21 that extends between the two accesses to Low Redburn Farm, Rookhope to enable cattle grid repair works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the eastern side of the closure from C21 through Rookhope southerly to Eastgate then westerly on A689 to Cowshill then northerly on B6295 to Allenheads and the junction with C21 toward Rookhope to the western side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 24/10/22 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
