Footpaths Closures/Restrictions

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL made the following temporary orders:
(STR000369 Edison Road, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for resurfacing works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the B4006 Dorcan Way between the roundabouts junctions with The Drive and Hindle Way and Edison Road between Dorcan Way and Faraday Road including the section of the roundabout with Wheatstone Road. Edison Road Closure - Traffic to be diverted via Liden Drive and Dorcan Way and vice versa. Sections of the roundabout with Wheatstone Road Closure - traffic to be diverted via Wheatstone Road, A419, A4259 Marlborough Road to Coate Roundabout, B4006 Dorcan Way and vice versa.

This Order is being introduced for resurfacing works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the B4006 Dorcan Way between the roundabouts junctions with The Drive and Hindle Way and Edison Road between Dorcan Way and Faraday Road including the section of the roundabout with Wheatstone Road. Edison Road Closure - Traffic to be diverted via Liden Drive and Dorcan Way and vice versa. Sections of the roundabout with Wheatstone Road Closure - traffic to be diverted via Wheatstone Road, A419, A4259 Marlborough Road to Coate Roundabout, B4006 Dorcan Way and vice versa.

Dorcan Way Closure - Traffic to be diverted via Covingham Drive, Merlin Way, White Hart Roundabout, A419, A4259 Marlborough Road to Coate Roundabout and vice versa. Access to industrial estate to be maintained. The Order comes into the force on the 20 October 2022 for 12 months but it is expected the works will be carried out overnight between 20:00 and 06:00 hours in October/November 2022 with works taking up to 6 weeks. Advance notice at location will be given of work start dates/times.

(STR000428 Whitehill Way, Swindon)
This Order is being introduced for road maintenance works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the B4534 Whitehill Way between Whithymead and Blagrove Roundabouts. Works are to be phased and traffic will be diverted via signed routes from the B4534 Mead Way, Tewkesbury Way, A3102 Great Western Way depending on the section of Whitehill Way is closed to traffic. The Order comes into the force on the 14 November 2022 for 6 months but it is expected the works will be carried out over 3 weeks from 14 November 2022 as follows: Week commencing 14 November 2022 overnight closure

(STR000435, Farnsby Street backroad, Swindon)
This Order is being introduced to allow Openreach to carry out work to the rear of Guild House and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the road to the rear of Farnsby Street. Traffic to be diverted via the one-way system on Farnsby Street, Milton Road and Faringdon Road. The Order will come into force on the 17 November 2022 for 6 months but the closure will only be required between the 17 and 18 November 2022. (STR000436 South Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced to allow sewer cleansing works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on South Street from No. 1 up to the junction with Prospect Place. Traffic to be diverted via Eastcott Road and Prospect Place. The Order will come into force on the 28 November 2022 for 6 months but it is anticipated the closure will only be required on the 28 November 2022.

(STR000456 Footpath 6 Hannington)
This Order is being introduced to allow reconstruction works to footpath steps and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding on the PROW footpath 6 Hannington. Alternative Route - From the northern end of the closure proceed south westwards along Public Bridleway 16 Hannington to Public Bridleway 13 Hannington. Turn left and follow Public Bridleway 13 Hannington southwards and then Public Bridleway 7 Hannington south westwards and then west north westwards to the southern end of the closure. From the southern end of the closure the alternative route is the reverse of the above. The Order comes into the force on the 1 November 2022 for 6 months.
