TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 13th day of October 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) & (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (5), (6), (7), (8), (9)&(10).
(1) BISHOPTHORPE ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Bishopthorpe Road, York between its junctions with Vine Street and Ebor Street (closed road) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 17 October 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 28 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted cyclists and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) STATION ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Station Road, York at the vehicular entrance to the pick-up / drop-off point between the projected western boundary of Cycle Heaven Shop and a location 23 metres northeast of said boundary (closed road) during the period when gas mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2000hrs on Monday, 17 October 2022 and ending at 0500hrs on Friday, 21 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be in place between 2000hrs and 0500hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) WATER END. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway and cycleway on the southern side of Water End, York between a location 20 metres north-east of its junction with Boroughbridge Road and its junction with the Footpath From Water End To Garnet Terrace And Bismarck Street (closed footway & cycleway) during the period when survey works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on Monday, 17 October 2022 and ending at 0500hrs on Saturday, 22 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the footway and cycleway will only be closed between 1930hrs and 0500hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(4) AGAR STREET. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Agar Street, York between its junctions with Monkgate and Agar Court (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 18 October 2022 and ending at 1800hrs on Wednesday, 19 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be closed between 0800hrs and 1800hrs only each day.
(5) MOOR LANE. MURTON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Moor Lane, Murton between locations 180 metres and 280 metres south east of the projected south-eastern boundary of Moor Lane Farm (closed road) during the period when new water supply works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 24 October 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Wednesday, 26 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(6) BURNHOLME AVENUE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Burnholme Avenue, York between its junction with Stray Road and a location 170 metres west of said junction (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 24 October 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Monday, 31 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day and that the road will only be closed on the 24th, 25th & 31 st October 2022. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(7) MALTON AVENUE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Malton Avenue, York between its junction with Heworth Green and a location 30 metres north-west of said junction (closed road) during the period when gas mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 24 October 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 11 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(8) APPLECROFT ROAD. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Applecroft Road, York between its junction with Bramley Garth and a location approximately 10 metres north-west of the junction with Ash Close (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 25 October 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 28 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, all on-street parking on Bramley Garth and on Bad Bargain Lane, between the junctions with Bramley Garth and Stray Road, will be suspended for the duration of the works. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(9) STARKEY CRESCENT. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Starkey Crescent, York between its junctions with Melrosegate and Fourth Avenue (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 26 October 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Tuesday, 01 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(10) BELLFARM AVENUE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Bellfarm Avenue, York between its junction with Huntington Road and the roundabout controlled junction with Roche Avenue (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Thursday, 27 October 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Wednesday, 02 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day and that the road will only be closed on the 27th & 28th October and the 2nd November 2022.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
