The A19 Trunk Road (South Kilvington Interchange
To York Road Interchange) (Temporary Restriction And Prohibition Of Traffic)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A19 Trunk Road, in the District of Hambleton, to enable carriageway patching works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start at 8pm on Friday 21 October 2022 for 15 days, or until completed.

The effect of the order will be, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A19 southbound:

(i) carriageway from 1600 metres north of the A61 South Kilvington Interchange overbridge to the entry slip road at the A170 York Road Interchange, a distance of 5400 metres;

(ii) exit slip road at South Kilvington Interchange;

(iii) entry slip road at South Kilvington Interchange; and

(iv) exit slip road at York Road Interchange. It will be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to close the laybys adjacent to the A19 southbound;

(v) carriageway from the exit slip road at South Kilvington Interchange to the entry slip road at York Road Interchange, a distance of 4000 metres.

It will also be necessary between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, from Sunday
23 October 2022, to close the A19 southbound:

(vi) carriageway mentioned above in (v); and

(vii) slip roads mentioned above in (iii) and (iv). During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 6 October 2022 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
