EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Secretary of State has extended the Order made by the Lake District National Park Authority and dated 20 April 2022. The effect of the order is to prohibit all motor vehicular traffic from proceeding over any part of the unsealed section of Breast High Road byway between the A6 (NY 5529 0532) and Bretherdale (NY 5755 0489) (BOAT 355002/
367004/355003/584026), to allow a bedding in period for the works recently carried out. The Order has been extended until 30 April 2023, but we will review the route surface before then and if appropriate, the closure may be lifted. There will be no further extensions. There are no suitable alternative routes for motor vehicles. The route will remain open for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders/horse-drawn traffic at all times.
