RESTRICTION OF WAITING
ORDER 2010 AMENDMENT NO.1
ORDER 2022
The Council on 6 October 2022 made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 34 and 35 and part IV of Schedule 9 the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 "the Act"), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 20 October 2022 and is to revoke in part The County Council of Durham
Various Schools, North Durham - Derwentside, Chester-Le-Street and Easington Areas
No Stopping on School Entrance Markings Order 2009 and the provision therein transferred to this order being
Schedule 1 - The Grove St. Pius Xth Infant and Junior School and The Grove Primary School Castleside, also
To introduce 'No Waiting at Any Time' restrictions on:
a. both sides of the junction of Priestman Avenue into Thornfield Road from a point adjacent to No.40 in a southerly direction and from a point adjacent to No.42 in a northerly direction for a distance of 22 metres.
b. Oakfield Lane from a point adjacent to No.51 in a southerly direction continuing round the bend in a northwesterly direction for 46 metres.
c. the western side of Oakfield Lane from a point adjacent to No.58 in a northerly direction for 21 metres.
d. the eastern side of Oakfield Lane from a point 18 metres north of the southern school entrance in a northerly direction for 18 metres.
e. on the northern side of the A692 to Sussex Road junction from a point 10 metres north-east in a westerly direction for 33 metres.
f. on the southern side of the A692 to Sussex Road junction from a point 11 metres south-west in a northwesterly direction for 33 metres.
To extend the existing 'No stopping Monday-Friday 8am-6pm' on entrance markings restriction on:-
The western side of Thornfield Road from the existing restrictions in a southerly direction for 4.8 metres making the total length of the restriction 31.5 metres.
All other restrictions locally remain the same. Full details are contained in the Order, a copy of which may be inspected via the Council website and at Consett Library during normal opening hours.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by "the Act", as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 13 October 2022 apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
