M3 Motorway - Junction 6 And Black Dam, Near Basingstoke Temporary Traffic Restrictions
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the M3 Motorway in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to authorise the total weekend closure of:
a) the entire circulatory carriageway of the M3 Junction 6 roundabout between its divergence from the northbound link carriageway leading to Black Dam roundabout and its merge with the road leading from the coast-bound carriageway
of the M3;
b) the road leading to the London-bound carriageway of the M3 at Junction 6 (Black Dam Interchange) (A30/A339); and
c) the southbound carriageway of the M3 spur road connecting Black Dam Roundabout to the Junction 6 roundabout at Junction 6 (Black Dam Interchange)
(A30/A339).
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway repairs including resurfacing, replacement of studs, road-marking, and all associated works. It is expected that the work will occur over two weekends starting on or after Friday 21st October 2022. The weekend closures will take place between Fridays 21:00 and Mondays 06:00 (maximum period). The Order will come into force on the 19th October 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted eastbound on the A30, then use the A287 to join the M3 at Junction 5 (A287). The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
