(Checkendon Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 20**
NOTICE Is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in order to help improve road safety on local roads following concerns raised by the parish council - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Checkendon (replacing the majority of the existing 30mph speed limits) leading out of the village to points on:

1. Main Street - a point 205 metres southwest of its junction with Deers Lane,
2. Uxmore Road - its junction with Blackhorse Lane,
3. Lovegroves Lane - a point 70 metres northwest of its junction with Uxmore Road,
4. Whitehall Lane - a point 652 metres southeast of its junction with Parkside,
5. Deers Lane - its junction with Blackhorse Lane.
The existing 30mph speed limits on Blackhorse Lane, the southern end of Main Street, and Exlade Street will remain in place, having taken the current road environment & traffic usage into account.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Checkendon Parish, Speed Limits) Order 2019 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the 4 November 2022. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public. (Ref: CM/12.6.160)

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the orders - in order to help improve road safety on local roads following concerns raised by the parish council - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit within the residential part of Britwell Salome, replacing the existing 30mph speed limits, leading out of the village to points on:
1. High Street - its junction with the B4009,
2. Unnamed road to Britwell Hill - its junction with the B4009,
3. Britwell Hill Road - a point 120 metres south of its junction with High Street.
The existing 30mph speed limit on the B4009 will remain in place, having taken the current road environment & traffic usage into account.
Thereafter, 40mph speed limit 'buffers' will be introduced on the B4009 at the northern & southern approaches to the village, reducing the existing 50mph speed limit in the process:
1. Northern end - from a point 190 metres northeast of its junction with the Unnamed road to the Church, northeastwards for 300 metres,
2. Southern end - from a point 175 metres southwest of its junction with the unnamed road to Britwell Hill, south-westwards for 450 metres.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Watlington Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2022, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Benson and Ewelme Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2022 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.
