(Station Road, Acacia Drive, The Broadway & Elm Road, Thorpe Bay) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic)
Order 2022 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section

14(1)

Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea City Counci has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Effect of the order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

1. Proceeding on Acacia Drive from its junction with Thorpe Hall Avenue and Woodgrange Drive roundabout to The Broadway.

2. Exiting The Broadway into Acacia Drive and Station Road

3. Band left hand turn from Elm Grove into The Broadway 4.Band right hand turn from The Broadway Car Park into
The Broadway.

The closure is scheduled to commence from 09:30 until 15:30 on the 12th of October 2022, or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The alternative route will be via Thorpe Hall Avenue, Thorpe Esplanade, Maplin Way & vice versa. Elm Road and The Broadway Car Park alternative route via

1. The Broadway, Thorpe Esplanade & Thorpe Hall Avenue

2. The Broadway, Thorpe Esplanade & Maplin Way.

The Order will come into effect on the 12th of October 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst the breakout and replacement of manhole covers, and frames takes place.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition mposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
