St Helens Borough Council The Council Of The Borough Of St Helens (Traverse Street. St Helens! (Cycle Lane) Order 2022

Notice Is Hereby Given

that on 26th September 2022 St Helens Borough Council made an Order In exercise of Its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to continue in force indefinitely the provision of the previous Experimental Traffic Regulation Order, as described in the Schedule to the Notice.

Schedule Pedal Cycles Contraflow

ROAD  LENGTH  PERMITTED DIRECTION
Traverse Street  The length of Traverse St which runs parallel with A58 Parr St, for a length of 80m  From east to west

The above contraflow system is to allow for pedal cycles to travel in the opposite direction to motorised vehicles along the length of Traverse Street as stated above.

Cycle Lane
Cycle Lane means the length of carriageway specified as a Cycle Lane which is reserved for Pedal Cycles and is signed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 and in which Pedal Cycles are authorised by a Traffic Regulation Order to proceed in the opposite direction to
other traffic.

Traverse Street   a point 12 metres east of its south western kerb line of the eastern arm of Traverse Street  a point 6 metres west of the south eastern line of the western arm of Traverse Street

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirements of the Act, or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.
