The County Of Cumbria (Footpath No. 223033 In The Parish Of Cockermouth) (Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable the Environment Agency to install rock armour upstream of the inlet adjacent to the gates on the River Cocker and to provide protection to the inlet screen ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx. 43 metre section of Public Footpath No. 223033 at Rubbybanks Road in the Parish of Cockermouth between Grid References 312248 530449 and 312241 530407.
A suitable alternative route for pedestrians is available via the unrestricted sections of Public Footpath No. 223033, the footways on Lorton Street, Station Road and South Street and Public Footpath No. 223031. The contractor will, where possible and deemed safe to do so, accommodate pedestrians wishing to access Rubbybanks Road via temporary fencing/routes.

The Order will come into operation on 3 October 2022 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 21 days.
