THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCIL
(VARIOUS STREETS, NITON & WHITWELL)
(TRAFFIC REGULATION)
ORDER NO 1 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1), 2(1) (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended ('the Act' of 1984), part 4 of Schedule 9 to the act of 1984, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part 3 of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 propose to make an order the effect of which will be to:
1. To revoke the provisions of 'The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Niton & Whitwell) (Traffic Regulation) Order No 2 2007'.
2. To re-enact the provisions contained therein subject to the following amendments:
a. To introduce 'No Waiting at Any Time' parking restriction in the following length of road:
Bannock Road, on both sides from its junction with High Street to a point 15.5 metres west thereof. Castlehaven Lane, on the east side, from its junction with St Catherines Road to a point 62 metres south thereof. Castlehaven Lane, on the west side, from its junction with St Catherines Road to a point 67 metres south thereof. Fishers, on both sides, from its junction with Seven Sisters Road to a point 10 metres north thereof. High Street, on the west side from a point 24.5 metres north to a point 16.5 metres south of its junction with Bannock Road.
High Street, on the east side from a point 23 metres north to a point 11.5 metres south of its junction with Bannock Road.
High Street, on the east side, from a point 6 metres north to a point 5 metres south of its junction with Puckwell Lane.
Ludbrook Way, on both sides from its junction with Nettlecombe Lane to a point 8 metres south-east thereof. Nettlecombe Lane, on the north-west side, from a point 13.5 metres north-east to a point 66.5 metres north-east of its junction with High Street.
Nettlecombe Lane, on the south-east side, from a point 6 metres north-east to a point 6 metres south-west of its junction with Ludbrook Way.
Sandrock Road, on the north side, from its junction with Old Blackgang Road to a point 27 metres east thereof. Sandrock Road, on the west side from its junction with Old Blackgang Road to a point 42.5 metres south thereof. Sandrock Road, on the east side, from a point 29.5 metres north-east to a point 32.5 metres south of its junction with Old Blackgang Road.
Seven Sisters Road, on both sides, from its junction with Fishers to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Twining Road.
Seven Sisters Road, on both sides, from its junction with Spindlers Road to a point 17.5 metres east thereof. Seven Sisters Road, on the south side, from 3 metres west to a point 7 metres west of its junction with Spindlers Road.
Seven Sisters Road, on the north side, from its junction with Spindlers Road to a point 15.5 metres west thereof. Spindlers Road, on the east side, from its junction with Seven Sisters Road to a point 6 metres south thereof. St Catherines Road, on both sides, from a point 27 metres north-east to a point 20 metres south-west of its junction with Castlehaven Lane.
Town End, on the west side, from a point 13.5 metres south to a point 66.5 metres south of its junction with Rectory Road.
Town End, on the east side, from a point 13.5 metres south to a point 85 metres south and east of its junction with Rectory Road.
Twining Road, on both sides, from its junction with Seven Sisters Road to a point 7 metres north thereof. The amendments are being proposed to facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising. A copy of the draft Order, this Notice and the relevant plan may be inspected between normal office hours at the Customer Service Centre, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight during the objection period.
