THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCIL (VARIOUS STREETS, VENTNOR) (TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER NO 1 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1) (2), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act' of 1984), the Road Traffic Act 1991 ("the Act of 1991") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 propose to make an order the effect of which will be to:
1. To revoke the provisions of 'The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Ventnor) (Traffic Regulation) Order No 1 2019'.
2. To re-enact the provisions contained therein subject to the following amendments:
a. To introduce 'No Waiting at Any Time' in the following lengths of road:
Esplanade, on the south side, from a point 43.5 metres east to a point 59.5metres east of its junction with Esplanade Road
Esplanade Road, on the south-west side, from a point 68.5 metres south-east to a point 88.5 metres south-east of its junction with Belgrave Road.
Park Avenue, on the north side, from a point 122 metres east to a point 145 metres east of its junction with Castle Road.
Shore Road, on the north side, from a point 63 metres north-west to a point 81.5 metres west of its junction with Grange Side.
Shore Road, on the west side, from a point 98.5 metres west to a point 107.5 metres north of its junction with Grange Side.
Steephill Road, on the north side, from a point 186 metres east to a point 352 metres east of its junction with Love Lane.
Steephill Road, on the south side, from a point 123 metres east to a point 153.5 metres east of its junction with Love Lane.
Steephill Road, on the south side, from a point 347 metres east to a point 355 metres east of its junction with Love Lane.
St Catherine Street, on the south-east side, from a point 32.5 metres north-east to a point 54 metres north-east of its junction with Wheelers Bay Road.
St Catherines Street, on the south-east side, from a point 8 metres south-west to a point 65 metres south-west of its junction with Beaconsfield Road.
St Catherines Street, on the south-east side, from a point 6.5 metres north-east to a point 75.5 metres north-east of its junction with Beaconsfield Road.
b. To introduce 'Limited Waiting 10am to 6pm, 1 hour No Return Within 1 Hour, 1 May to 30 September' in the following lengths of road:
Albert Street, on the south side, from a point 49.5 metres east to a point 58 metres east of its junction with Dudley Road.
c. To introduce 'No Waiting / No Loading at Any Time' in the following lengths of road:
Car Park Eastern Esplanade, on both sides, from its junction with Esplanade to a point 63.5 metres east thereof.
d. To revoke 'No Loading at Any Time' in the following lengths of road:
Victoria Street, on the west side, from a point 26 metres south to a point 60.5 metres south of its junction with High Street.
e. To revoke 'Limited Waiting 1 Hour No Return Within 1 Hour 8am-6pm 1 May-30 September' in the following length of road:
Albert Street, on the south side, from a point 49.5 metres east to a point 58 metres east of its junction with Dudley Road.
The amendments are being proposed to facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
A copy of the draft Order, this Notice and the relevant plan may be inspected between normal office hours at the Customer Service Centre, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight during the objection period.
