Notice ID: MFN0677411
M3 MOTORWAY - JUNCTION 5 (NEAR HOOK) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the M3 Motorway in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the 24-hour closure of the hard shoulder adjacent to -
a) the coast-bound carriageway of the M3 between points 1120 metres and 2720 metres west of the centreline of Totter's Lane underbridge; and
b) the London-bound carriageway of the M3 between points 445 metres and 2060 metres east of the centreline of Heather Row Lane overbridge.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge works including bearing replacement and drainage refurbishment. It is expected that the work, which will also include lane closures adjacent to the hard shoulders described above, will last for approximately 2 months starting on or after Monday 10th October 2022. The Order will come into force on 8th October 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. No diversions apply. The temporary closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
