(Steeple Barton & Westcot Barton Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2022
NOTICE is given that on 26 September 2022 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order, which comes into force on 1 October is as follows:
1. To introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Steeple & Westcot Barton, with the existing 30mph speed limit being replaced - leading outwards to the following points:
a. B4030 Enstone Road - a point 327 metres southwest of its junction with the unnamed road to Sandford St Martin,
b. B4030 North Street - a point 140 metres northeast of its junction with Holliers Crescent,
c. Church Lane - a point 575 metres east of its junction with Mill Lane (an extension of 211 metres),
d. Kiddington Road - a point 330 metres south of its junction with South Street (an extension of 226 metres),
e. Worton Road - a point 122 metres north of its junction with Hillside Road, and
f. Sandford St Martin Road - a point 308 metres northwest of its junction with the B4030 Enstone Road.
2. To introduce a 30mph speed limit at the western end replacing the existing 60mph National Speed Limit as follows:
B4030 Enstone/Middle Barton Road - from a point 285 metres southwest of its junction with Sandford St Martin Road south-westwards for a distance of 295 metres.
3. To introduce 40mph speed limits on two roads at the eastern end of the village, replacing the existing 60mph National Speed Limit as follows:
a. B4030 North Street - from a point 140 metres northeast of its junction with Holliers Crescent eastwards to a point 55 metres east of its junction with Duns Tew Road, and
b. Duns Tew Road - from its junction with the B4030 North Street north-eastwards for a distance of 105 metres.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Steeple Barton & Westcot Barton Parishes) (Restricted Roads) Order 2001 is revoked/ replaced.

(Ambrosden, Arncott & Blackthorn Parishes)
(Speed Limits) Order 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in order to help improve road safety on local roads following concerns raised by the parish council - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Ambrosden, replacing the majority of the existing 30mph speed limits, leading out of the village to points on:
1. Blackthorn Road - a point 24 metres northeast of its junction with Quintan Avenue,
2. Ploughley Road:
a. Northern end - a point 12 metres south of its junction with Willow Road,
12 b. Southern end - a point 14 metres north of its junction with The Water Meadows,
3. The Water Meadows - its junction with Ploughley Road,
4. Merton Road - a point 182* metres southwest of its junction with Home Farm Close.
* this incorporates the proposed extended length of 30mph speed limit consulted on in June 2021. Small sections of existing 30mph speed limit at the northern & southern ends of the Ploughley Road will be retained, having taken the current road environment & traffic usage into account. Additionally, any non-public highway roads covered by the 'Ministry of Defence' will retain their current speed limits. Entries for the parishes of Merton & Piddington are currently separated from the proposed order following consultations on additional local 20mph speed limits in those parishes.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Ambrosden, Arncott, Blackthorn, Merton and Piddington Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2020 will be revoked/ replaced as necessary Documents giving more details of the proposals are available for public inspection online by visiting:

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the 28 October 2022.
