(Chalk Lane (D2066) Epsom Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022) Variation Order No.1 2022
On 24 March 2022 Surrey County Council gave notice in the Surrey and Epsom Comet that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 it had made "The Surrey County Council Chalk Lane (D2066) Epsom Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022" on 01 April 2022.
The effect of the Temporary Order is to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Chalk Lane (D2066) Epsom as extends from its junction with (D2456) Woodcote End to its junction with (X67674) Chalk Paddock to enable
(a) telecoms poling and/or cabling and/ or utility maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 8am and 6pm commencing 01 April 2022; and
(b) mains gas and/or mains water and/ or sewerage works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Shannon Pipe Contractors and/or JW Clark within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks between the hours of 8am and 6pm commencing 02 April 2022.
Works are anticipated to be completed within 2 weeks of the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order which commences on 01 April 2022.
The Council now gives further notice that on 28 September 2022 it has made "The Surrey County Council (Chalk Lane (D2066) Epsom Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022) Variation Order No.1 2022" the effect of which is to vary the Temporary Order so as to include mains electrical works to be carried out by or on behalf of Shannon Pipe Contractors and/or UK Power Networks within the definition of works.
These works are to be carried out as soon as possible over 9 days within the remaining period of operation of this Order that commenced on 01 April 2022 for a period of 12 months. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
For both sets of works access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, vehicular access for residents and the emergency services will be via the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above or accessible only there from may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Clinton Avenue (D6916) East Molesey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering the entire length of Clinton Avenue (D6916) East Molesey. There is no alternative route. This Order is required to enable Shift Traffic Events to facilitate utility service pipe maintenance and/or water works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 5 days between the hours of 7am and 7pm, within the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 31 October 2022.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted. When this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within a 24-hour period.
D2237 Kendor Avenue, Epsom Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D2237 Kendor Avenue, Epsom that extends from the south-eastern property boundary of "No.32 Kendor Avenue", to its junction with D2418 Upper Court Road.
This Traffic Order is required to enable SQS to carry out service pipe repair and/or maintenance works in that length of D2237 Kendor Avenue, Epsom that extends outside "No.48 Kendor Avenue". These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm within 6 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 26 October 2022.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained up to the point of works outside "No.48 Kendor Avenue at all times via the vehicular diversion route: - Upper Court Road, Manor Green Road and Kendor Avenue.
