The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads In The Carlisle Area) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) (No.4) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out patching works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.
The works will not necessarily be done in numerical order. Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The references to quote as specified in the Schedule.
The Order will come into operation on 14 October 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 3 months in total and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 1. Greenside Road, Carlisle - Approx. duration 2 days (Ref: CA-22-140)
From its junction with Winscale Way extending in a north westerly then north easterly direction for approx. 250m.
Alternative Route: via Rosehill Drive and Winscale Way.
2. U 1124 Little Orton, Carlisle - Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: CA-22-141)
From its junction with the U1125 extending in an south easterly direction for approx. 2.4km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of U1124, C2051, C1021 and U1125.
3. Alfred Street South, Carlisle - Approx. duration 1 day (Ref: CA-22-142)
From its junction with Aglionby Street extending in a northerly direction for approx. 50m.
Alternative Route: via Aglionby Street, Warwick Road and the unrestricted section of Alfred Street.
4. Eden Street, Carlisle - Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: CA-22-143)
From its junction with Etterby Scaur extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 730m.
Alternative Route: via Etterby Scaur, Briar Bank and Scotland
Road.
5. U1118 Boustead Hill, Burgh by Sands - Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: CA-22-144)
From its junction with C2042 extending in a southerly direction for approx. 2.9km.
Alternative Route: via the B5307, U2004 and C2042.
6. Lambley Bank, Scotby - Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: CA-22-145)
From its junction with Parkett Hill extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 850m. No alternative route available.
