TYNE & WEAR INTEGRATED TRANSPORT AUTHORITY
S125 TRANSPORT ACT 2000 (as amended)

1. Section 125 of The Transport Act 2000 (as amended) makes provision for a local transport authority to give public notice of its intention to consult on the making of a Quality Contracts Scheme (QCS) to cover the whole or part of its area.
2. Description of the QCS: At its meeting on 26 July 2013 the Tyne and Wear Integrated Transport Authority (ITA) resolved to consult on the making of a QCS covering the whole Tyne and Wear metropolitan area including all commercial and secured bus services in that area save for a limited number of excluded services. The consultation process will conclude on 5 November 2013 (or such later date as Nexus may announce during the consultation process) and respondents must ensure that responses are provided to Nexus on or before that date.
3. How to obtain a copy of the QCS: The proposed draft QCS, the Consultation Document and the Direction from the ITA to Nexus on the conduct of the consultation are available for inspection from 30 July 2013 until 5 November 2013 between 10.00am until 4.00pm each Monday to Friday at Nexus, Nexus House, 33 St James Boulevard, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4AX or are available to download at the website address www.nexus.org.uk/busstrategy. All consultation responses will be in the public domain and will be published on the website.
